The prophet of free body stirs up a feel-good mood

Silvia Gribaudi has made a name for herself as a “prophet of free body”. By questioning gender stereotypes, body ideals and the concept of virtuosity, she manages to both entertain her audiences and make them think.

In 2022, her production Graces went on tour with Dansnät Sverige and proved so popular that this ultimate feel-good piece has now been brought back for another round.

Silvia Gribaudi is one of those rare artists who dares to be funny, irrelevant and empathetic all at the same time. She is always shifting fluidly and seamlessly between dance, theatre and performance. With her self-indulgent and queer approach, she creates entertainment at the highest level. Purposeful and to the point, her work has the ability to stimulate reflection through both the unconventional and the unexpected.

Choreographer

Silvia Gribaudi is a multi-award-winning choreographer from Turin, Italy. She won over both the audience and the jury at the Giovane Danza d’Autore competition with her breakthrough piece A corpo libero. She then went on to perform this work at the Aerowaves Spring Forward Festival, which paved the way for showcasing it all over Europe. Her choreographic language moves freely between dance and theatre, always focusing on the body, nudity and the relationship between stage and audience. Within her social and cultural framework, she has developed an artistry that could be summed up as dance mixed with raw and empathetic humour.
