Àngel Duran / Loraine Dambermont

Clinch / Toujours de 3/4 face!

The ultimate testosterone overload

At a time when fighting is viewed as entertainment and toxic masculinity is portrayed as heroic, this double bill steps up and challenges the violent popular culture we are constantly being fed.

In the duet Clinch, Àngel Duran grapples with macho culture’s virile attitude and the way it represses emotion. The name of the show refers to the moment when two boxers wrap their arms around each other and lock each other in place until the referee separates them.

The second item, Toujours de 3/4 face!, is presented by Loraine Dambermont, who reveals her savviest secret self-defence techniques. Set to the sassy voice of karate king Johnny Cadillac, we are treated to a “live tutorial” that will leave us both laughing and feeling slightly uneasy.
