Our environmental work

Dansnät Sverige, the largest touring organisation for dance in the Nordic region, plays an important role in the work towards a more sustainable future. We strive to be a role model by demonstrating that it is possible to make dance accessible throughout the country, regardless of where audiences live, while at the same time minimising our climate impact. In a time marked by major climate change, we operate according to clear guidelines that permeate the entire organisation.

This means, among other things, that we prioritise local technical solutions whenever possible in order to avoid transporting equipment. All domestic travel is planned by train, and tours are organised in consolidated periods to reduce both national and international travel. International guest companies are encouraged to travel by train and bus through financial compensation, and our staff travel exclusively by train, both within Sweden and internationally.

To further reduce travel, parts of our network activities are carried out digitally. During the year, two of five partner meetings are held online. At physical meetings, only vegetarian food is served, as a conscious choice within the framework of our sustainability efforts.
