a mental journey with physical intelligence

Helena Franzén is a choreographer who has dedicated her work exploring the borderless variations and richness of movements in more than 70 of her performances. Now is time for her to enter the stage in her solo work Extended. She moves with precision and intelligence surrounded by projections visualising bare, inhospitable landscapes. With a nerve and a presence she creates a pensive choreography to a melancholy soundscape created by Jukka Rintamäki. Extended is a performance which offers a breathing space in a workday. A space where meditative space is created and memories are mixed up and reinterpreted.

Helena Franzén is both a dancer and choreographer and has been active for more than 25 years. After completing her studies at Balettakademien and choreographic education at Danshögskolan in Stockholm she has created works both as a freelancing choreographer and for institutions. Helena Franzén has toured Scandinavia, the USA, South America and the Baltic states and has received several distinctions such as Ganneviks award, the city of Stockholm culture award and Svenska Teaterkritiker Föreningens dance-award.

Helena Franzén has previously toured Dancenet Sweden with Meeting You (2016), I´m not Looking Back (2012), Trigger Point (2011) and Delicious Liquids (2006).
