Christiana Morganti was for a period of 20 years a soloist in Pina Bausch legendary company Tanztheater Wuppertal. Her first evening-length performance Jessica and me – is an autobiography disguised as a dialogue between herself and the fictional alter ego Jessica.

This creation is a homage to dance and to Morgantis memories as a soloist in the world’s most famous company. Dressed in red and dangerously high heeles she describes her career with a hilarious sense of humour and phenomenal timing. Christiana depicts her first steps in ballet classes and the numerous hours spent in training localities. She brings to life the two sides of a life as a dancer – the physical joy and the price the body pays.

The Italian dancer and choreographer Cristiana Morganti was a solo dancer in Pina Bausch Tanztheater Wuppertal between1993 and 2014. As a company member she participated in both Pedro Almodovar’s film “Talk to her” (2001) and in Wim Wenders documentary film about Pina Bausch, “Pina” (2011). Cristiana is presently working as a guest professor at the Conservatorie National Supérieur in Paris, as well as teaching at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio d’Amico in Rome.
